For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: After diligent nest completion this morning, and after a couple hellacious windy days, they seem to be admiring their nest progress and enjoying life just sitting together in the nest.

Other Activity: Observed Dilly from over by Great Bank. Initially there was no osprey at the nest. There was an osprey circling over Choate that headed towards Dilly. Then we observed an osprey on Dilly briefly, but it flew off again.

Other Activity: When we went to the nest, it was empty, but we had passed an osprey in the trees on the nest side of Dean Island. On the way over to Great Bank, an osprey passed by us, flew around Dean a couple of times and then landed on the nest. On our way back to the ramp around 8:45, we could see 2 osprey in the nest.

Other Activity: From a distance we could see 2 osprey on the nest (1 up on the perch). As we got closer, 1 flew off but the other remained up on the nest perch as we passed by.

Other Activity: On our way over we could see 2 osprey together in the marsh near Great Bank. Then they flew over to the nest very briefly, then circled around the area and out towards Dilly, and then back into the marsh near the Great Bank platform. There was some calling between them as well.
