For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Female was perched on the nest on platform 2 and the male flew in with some soft nesting material. Male flew away to perch on platform 3 and the female later flew to platform 1 and is perched there.

Observation Method: from bedroom window

General Comments: I have seen many fewer intruders and much less contention over the nest site than in prior years, but at least one of the resident pair is almost always present and perched on one of the three platforms closest to the river. They are definitely guarding the nest site.
