For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Bob brought a fish to the nest this morning. Both adults started to pull apart the fish in small pieces. I saw one chick stretching his/her neck up to get fed. Both parents were dipping their beaks into the nest. I am assuming there is more than one chick but only have confirmation of one. Yesterday Bob briought in a fish to the nest as well as lots of marsh grass.

Other Activity: The male was perched below eating. The female was standing and bending down for the first 5 minutes. I couldn't tell if she was eating or tending chicks but then settled in to incubating for the remainder of the time. She was quite vocal during the time she was sitting.

Weather Conditions: Warm, still, no clouds

Other Activity: I observed both birds on the nest, nearer to the edge of the nest than in the middle. The one I think was the F was busy with her head in the nest. I suspect there is a chick or possibly two, but I only caught a glimpse of something and can't confirm. I will go back tomorrow and get another look. Excited to see some chicks soon!
