For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Both osprey were on nest looking inside. Male took off to check me out as I approached. Normally they don't take off from this nest when I approach. Possibly guarding nestlings.

Other Activity: Female osprey on side of nest. Male arrived with a fish and female appeared to start the feeding process for nestlings.

Weather Conditions: 53 degrees, sun coming up, little wind

Other Activity: Pauline is awake and looking to the sky for Bob. She is nestled on the nest. Last night at dusk, two female deer walked by the platform and out of no where, Bob came swooping in and tried to peck their heads. After several iterations of that, the deer took off and ran through the marsh. After last years loss of chicks to an owl, I guess Bob has learned to be very aggressive.

Other Activity: Both adults we perched in the nest during the whole observation. They we both looking out over the marsh, and not down into the nest at all.
