For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Pauline is awake and looking to the sky for Bob. She is nestled on the nest. Last night at dusk, two female deer walked by the platform and out of no where, Bob came swooping in and tried to peck their heads. After several iterations of that, the deer took off and ran through the marsh. After last years loss of chicks to an owl, I guess Bob has learned to be very aggressive.

General Comments: 2nd chick has hatched. Adults feeding them alot. So far so good. One egg still unhatched.

Weather Conditions: 70℉ Slight breeze with intermittent gusts; sunny with some clouds
Other Activity: Adult primarily just sitting on nest, occasionally changing positions. At one point (s)he seemed to be eating as head was bobbing up & down & there appeared to be chewing with head shaking a bit. Then suddenly she flew off the nest, making several circles very high above nest. She returned to nest but stayed on the edge. Again she flew off the nest, circling above for 12 minutes (I timed it!). Upon return, she seemed restless but finally settled back down inside nest.

General Comments: More repair work needs to be done on platform (one board open on floor & some railing) and the end of one board on trail
