For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: When I got here, the female was up on the perch of the platform. She was calling to the mail. He was over on the other marsh perch I believed, which ended up being the female from platform number two. After about 10 minutes of the female calling on platform number one. She flew off. I do believe that this nest has failed.

Weather Conditions: 58°. No wind and cloudy.
Other Activity: Looks like the eggs are hatching. The male osprey is on the marsh platform and the female is up on the platform perch. By the time I left, she was back in the nest looking down.

Other Activity: Was able to see Babson from Round Island and on the return to Fox Creek. The adult osprey was perched on the post by the nest.

Other Activity: Checked again after doing the Choate Island loop. Osprey in the nest was lying down incubating, but occasionally bending her head down into the nest.

Other Activity: From a distance we could hear the female on the nest calling. The male flew into the nest (did not appear to have a fish with him) , and both stood at the edge of the nest, looking down into the nest. She continued calling a bit. A couple minutes later, he flew off and she hunkered down into the incubating position.

Weather Conditions: Warm ~75°, breezy, sunny
Other Activity: Saw one osprey on the nest, seemed like she had chicks but i didn'tsee any. She began calling. The mate came back and switched with her. She came back a few minutes later wit a giant stick and I watched them work together to get it woven into the nest. Another bird flew over the nest while they were there. Eventually, he flew off again to get food.
Observation Method:
General Comments: I spoke with the owner of the home next to where I was observing, and she told me this is their 2nd year there and this year's nest is much bigger. Apparently they had one chick fledge last year.
