For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: big nest so adult or chicks could be down in it, but wouldn't expect not to see adult even if there are chicks. Worried something happened to eggs/chicks. Don't see chicks at this nest until they are fledglings because nest is always too big and they are down in it. Will continue to check nest.

Other Activity: 4:07 male (?) comes to nest with something pretty large. Female perches alongside they bob and interact for about 10 min then he leaves. She is visible another few minutes. I lose track of him. 4:25. 3 osprey circling far overhead. I couldn't tell if nest was occupied at this time. Lost sight of the three flyers around 4:30 4:40 I saw an adult head pop up from nest edge. I think she's been there all along 4:47 observed an osprey catch a fish and come up from the water. At first headed for the nest but then veered away, was joined by another, and they circled and circled until I lost them. Female popped her head out when I then checked on her. I think she was there all along 4:57: he returns to nest approaching from high up and towards Beverly. Bearing a much diminished fish. the two perch on nest. He goes off to fish. 5:05 or so after he circled awhile; I lost him. By 5:07 they are both on nest now. He leaves. At 5:15 he caught a fish and returned to lower pylon. At 5:17 an osprey flew right overhead while the two others definitely on the pylon one on strut one on nest

Other Activity: One adult perched on post, second adult perched on marsh directly below platform. Afterv15 mins or so adult flew to nest platform, stayed a couple of minutes and then left flew south over Sound. Adult below platform did not change position. Think the nest may have failed ?
