Other Activity: Both adults were visible on nest and flying on and off. They did not appear to go down to the water to fish etc. but would leave nest, circle and then return. I was able to observe the birds soaring around. I could not tell if it was the same bird that was leaving and returning or if they were taking turns. They did not both seem to leave the nest at the same time.

General Comments: It appears that something has happened in this nest, and the two nestlings observed a week ago may no longer be present. A week ago, two nestlings were clearly visible. We were away for a few days in the middle of the week. Since our return yesterday, the male has been absent. The email is just perched on the nest. At times she is gone. When she is clearly feeding, there seems no effort to feed nestlings. No nestlings have been visible. The only nest based activity we can observe is the female occasionally moving sticks in the nest. She is silent most of the time. Sad news to contemplate.
