For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: no adults but 2 chicks, 1 preening. definitely getting bigger! Had friend with me with scope so got better look. There were sticks with green leaves piled on two sides of nest that weren't there before--I would have seen the mounds, the shape of the nest with binocs only even though I wouldn't have seen they were green. Never seen that before!

Weather Conditions: 80℉ Overcast completely; very few mild breezes; rain threatening
Other Activity: For at least the first 25-30 minutes, there was no activity. Finally two or three (not certain about the third) heads and upper bodies popped up from the nest to look around. They stayed up for 10-15 minutes and dis-appeared back down into nest. There was NO adult to be seen during the whole time.

Other Activity: Lots of Osprey chatter detected thanks to Merlin. Judging from the two distinctly different callings, I suspect one calling was Mom Maggie and the other her baby.

General Comments: I finally got a sighting of a nestling! I definitely saw. One. The fog was obscuring the nest . Maybe there’s another but I couldn’t see it.

Other Activity: Annie on the nest post. The two oldest chicks were flapping their wings -- getting stronger and larger. The youngest chick seems also to be progressing well. The nest will be getting smaller and smaller soon as its inhabitants are growing rapidly.
