For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: all observations today by binocular due to concern about startling a pre-fledge chick into premature launch, so 1-2 means one for sure, second probable but not absolutely certain, no sight of third chick. one adult on marsh perch, one on blind.

General Comments: Again, it appears that the oldest "chick" is feeding on its own. Annie was perched on the nest and then flew to the nest perch. All look healthy to me. Seems that there is more wing flapping to strengthen their wings prior to leaving the nest in late August/early September?

Other Activity: An adult was perched in the middle of the nest. Something the color and size of a nestling was right nest to it, but it never moved, and the adult never interacted with it.

Other Activity: The adult and the nestling were in the nest, and being dive bombed by a mockingbird. Eventually the adult flew off. The nestling ducked down, and the mockingbird left. The nestling is close to adult size.

Other Activity: From a distance the nest appeared to be empty, so we paddled into the small channel that passes by the nest. Up close the body of a nestling was visible lying pretty flat in the nest, but there was no movement or sound at all. There was no sign of an adult anywhere around.
