For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: I was initially here around 12:20 and the nest appeared empty. I couldn't entice the nestling to poke its head up. So I returned on my way back in and from a different angle I could see the nestling and one adult osprey come back to the nest with a fish.

Weather Conditions: Rain subsiding, windy.

Other Activity: Osprey actively flying and fishing. Aggressively challenged a gull for what appeared to be a fish. Flew around for quite some time and then returned to nest. Could not confirm if he or she had a fish. Visibility was poor and could not see any other activity in the nest.

Observation Method: On foot at Salem Ferry peer with binoculars.

Other Activity: Very large adult Osprey perched on transmission tower very near nest. He/she did not move for the duration of the observation. There did not appear to be any activity in the nest.

Other Activity: I think Squam delivered a small fish and the oldest fledgling? is eating from it on his own -- not being fed small bits of fish as has been the case lately. Progress for sure. The other two are not attempting to challenge for some of the meal. Squam flew off shortly after I began watching.
