at: Gloucester

Number of Adults Visible: 1

Number of Nestlings Visible: 1

Number of Fledglings Visible: 0

Weather Conditions: Sunny, light wind, and 72°

Other Activity: I think this is the happiest report that I’ve done so far besides seeing the chicks for the first time. The female is on the nest, and the Nessling is eating a fish, thank God. After the two days before this, I really thought that the nest had failed. I’m sure the heat must’ve kept him settle down in the nest yesterday. But it was very peculiar that there was only the male on the nest. Maybe the female needed a break.

Observation Method: Car

Location, Date & Time of Observation:

at: Beverly

Number of Adults Visible: 1

Number of Nestlings Visible: 1

Number of Fledglings Visible:

Weather Conditions: Partly cloudy

Other Activity: At first look, it appears to be two adults; however, with the paddle board, I was able to float quite close to the nest to identify one adult and one nestling (based on her feather markings). Neither flew away so I am assuming that the young has not yet fledged. Another osprey flew close to the nest but did not stop.

Observation Method: Paddle board

Other Activity: There were 3 osprey on nest. One definitely was a juvenile, being smaller than the other 2. The other 2 by size I would speculate were adults. However, there have been 2 nestlings on this Nest so I could be wrong and could be looking at 1 adult and 2 juveniles. No sign of the other adult if this was the case.
