For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Nestling was in the nest. An adult osprey was perched in a nearby ttree. With the adult out of the nest it was easier to determine that there is indeed only one offspring.

Weather Conditions: Mid 80’s, clear skies, moderate winds

Other Activity: Single adult perched on rim, one fledgling clearly perched in nest . At approximately 2:50 the adult departed. No other adult appeared. No other fledgling observed.

Weather Conditions: Sunny Warm humid light wind

Other Activity: There appeared to be a younger, lighter colored Osprey in the nest but he was not really moving or doing too much. The visibility was not that good so I couldn't confirm if there was another bird or just the one.

Observation Method: On foot at Independence Park with binoculars.
