For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: I've been checking in from time to time all day and each time I've noted the one lone chick (youngest?) in the nest but I've never seen him/her with any fish. Has anyone else seen the chick with a fish -- either dropped by a remaining adult, or perhaps caught by the fledgling?

Other Activity: I am certain that the osprey on the nest was an adult due to the ‘necklace’ on the white breast. I did see an osprey flying low away from the nest and then watched it in the air above me as I approached. I think that it came from the nest but did not see it actually leave the nest. I couldn’t tell if it was an adult or a fledgling.
