For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: I’m hoping that this is the correct osprey nest. It is off of Komo point to the right. I’m assuming it’s in the Lufkin Creek. I see osprey in the nest and one up on the nest perch.

Other Activity: I noticed two osprey flying over Farnham Ebben Creek. I then went down to Cox reservation to see them coming back to the nest. The female is here.

General Comments: My two osprey have safely returned. Both Bob and Pauline arrived (usually Bob arrives on March 31 and Pauline usually arrives one week later). They have been eating fish ( sitting on their respective marsh perches) then sitting in the nest together.

Other Activity: male was on sight for approx 2 weeks near platform. Female arrived this aft. Male brought fish to nest - they ate - they copulated. Male flew off broke stick. However earlier in am male was on camera at the other nest and brought stick. No female arrived at that nest yet

Observation Method: stationary from Morton Street

General Comments: Some confusion if this might be male from EAB2 nest because it was on that nest. And at one point following day this pair was seen on camera copulating on the other nest. TBC

Other Activity: In addition to the osprey we also observed 4 nests each containing a single adult blue heron Numerous red-winged blackbirds A pair of swans

General Comments: We went out to check the nest for the first time this year and were pleasantly surprised to see one adult osprey perched on a dead snag in the middle of the water! The nest from last year was not visible and perhaps it fell down over the winter.

General Comments: One male osprey landed on last year’s nest. Then flew to the left field pole where a nest had been started last year but not used. Just hanging out. Did a big fly around and back. Great to see.
