Other Activity: When I arrived there were three Osprey, one on the nest, one eating fish on the marsh perch and an intruder (female) trying to get the other female off the nest. The male went after her and escorted her off the area for a bit. About 20 minutes late she came back, with nesting material...Again he escorted her away. Then a Red Tailed Hawk wanted to check things out...That is one busy guy protecting his girl. He moved to the other perch with his fish again....interesting morning.

Other Activity: Upon arrival, Mr. and Mrs O were on the third pole from the house looking at each other and observing their surroundings, 11:14AM they began to breed. The male flew off and came back with some sticks and deposited them in the presumed nest on the second pole from the house. The nest now has several branches and what appears to be a coffee cup! The male proceeded to move around some branches and sticks in the nest and then perched on the side of the platform. The female was watching from the third pole. The male looked up spotting another female Osprey landing on the platform of the first pole behind the house. He observed for a moment and then flew back to Mrs O still sitting on the third pole from the house. She was not happy as by the expression when her mate flew back to her. He perched on the pole beside her as they both observed the intruder, Mrs O then flew off the third pole and over to their presumed nest (second pole from the house) as she landed in the nest, Mr. O followed and assuredly told the intruder that he belonged to Mrs O by mating with her upon landing. Mr. O then proceeded to sit on the edge of the nest watching the intruder, Mrs O called loudly in the background, clearly not happy. Mr. O flew off their nest and over to pole one where the intruder took flight just as Mr. O did, she flew West and was not seen again. Mr. O landed on the platform of pole one seemingly to claim it as their territory. He sat and watched the intruder fly off and then he flew down to the phragmites below, grabbed two talons of mud and grass, and returned to Mrs. O in their nest on pole two from the house. As he returned with the talons of mud Mrs. O looked up at him with the appreciative look as seen between mates of the GBH. Mr. O flew off out of visible sight, Mrs O looked into the direction that the intruder flew with attitude!
