For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Female osprey was sitting on the marsh grass for a while, and then moved to the pole perch.

General Comments: No sign of the male.

General Comments: female is sitting on the nest, male is perched on marsh perch with a fish. A couple Turkey vultures flew over head and he flew up to the platform, then he went to retrieve some sticks for nest building.....Not quite as eventful as the other day for sure.

Other Activity: One osprey perched, hunkering down from the wind.

Observation Method: on foot with binocs from Independence Park

General Comments: There is a large piece of debris on the nest I think - maybe just a part of the nest that got blown around in the wind. Next time I go down there I'll bring a camera. It is on the back side of the nest, looking from Indy Park.
