at: Salisbury

Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible: 0

Number of Fledglings Visible: 0

Weather Conditions: cold, overcast, moderate breeze, sprinkling

Other Activity: Mrs O was on pole number 3 from the house, Mr. O was on pole number one behind the house and appeared to be using this perch to spot fish in the creek below. Although his head did a lot of bobbing, he never went for a fish. Eventually, he flew off and attempted to mount Mrs O on pole number three, then he flew off and came back with talons filled with mud and grass and deposited them on their nest on pole number 2 from the house. Mrs O remained on pole number 3, preening and observing. After fixing up the nest a bit, Mr. O flew over to one of the phone poles looking over the river on Ferry Road. He stayed for a bit and then flew over to pole number three where he attempted again to mate. Several mating attempts were unsuccessful, the male landed on her too far forward, making it impossible to connect. Maybe his first rodeo?! ;)

Weather Conditions: Sunny

Other Activity: perched on the platform

Observation Method: Scope from home

General Comments: I have watched for a few weeks, seeing one or sometimes two Osprey on the posts and/or platform. However, each time I see one I check Platform #4 and either see one adult there or none. When I have observed two (rarely) on #2, the #4 platform is empty. I think we have the returned pair from Platform #4 touching down on the #2 platform on and off, but the pair appears to go back to #4 at night. Most of the time #2 platform is empty.
