For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey circling nest was initially empty While watching one osprey perched on nest another osprey circling around A few others came and are circling as tide comes in Does not appear to be making a nest like Squam and Annie. She seems to just be sitting there not actively building. Maybe they are a young couple housekeeping?

General Comments: I see this post many times each day. Clearly there is a pair of birds connected to this nest. It is possible that there are eggs present, but no way to confirm. It seems the female is perched or in the nest most of the time. The nest is rarely left untended. Both birds clearly defend this nest when other osprey turn up.

Other Activity: I'm always amused to see that Suam, apparently, has delivered a decoration (this one looks like a bunch of dead flowers ?) to the nest. He seems to like rubber gloves, pieces of paper, etc. ...... makes me smile. This is the 3rd year I've noted his decorating attempts.
