For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: For the first time there was a very small amount of nest material on the channel marker. Then one osprey arrived with a stick. Then it flew down to the marsh, picked up some grass & flew away from the channel marker over to a nest on top of a utility pole in GEAA Field on Summer St. I went in that direction & saw a very big, probably new nest on the pole.

Other Activity: The osprey remained perched on the nest. He fluffed his wings a few times but really remained very still. I was able to get some good pictures of him/her.
Observation Method: on foot at beach near Jubilee Yacht club with camera and binoculars.

Other Activity: Appeared to be a female. We thought we had seen a lone male on the nest a previous day. We waited to see if a male would show but none did.

General Comments: On nest "Salem Harbor Channel Marker R2" there were two adults, one appeared to be incubating and the other working on the nest. Top chart and Marine chart show it to be in Marblehead waters.
