For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: No birds visible on or near platform. One Osprey appeared pursuing a large gull. Flew out of sight. Took some test shots of platform. Could hear osprey calling -2 birds ? Moved location to Middle Road and did final sweep to find both birds perched together about 30+ feet up on a tree on island about 150yds north of platform. Pair seemed reluctant to approach platform. [This same behaviour of perching in same tree mentioned by observer a few days ago] Then male got up to pursue another large gull up the river. He finally disappeared on the horizon about a mile away. Fesmale stayed put on tree perch.
