For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 74 degrees; cloudy; slight breeze; low tide
Other Activity: Female's head just barely visible above the top edge of the nest. Male was sitting on the nearby pole perch for a while, and then left and flew up the Essex River for a while.
Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.
General Comments: Male returned to the nest perch empty handed. He then flew off again after a short while, probably continuing to look for a fish.
