For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Due to the closure of the Bear Creek refuge, this platform is viewed from a substantial difference via scope. Only the female was observed, sitting in the nest.

Other Activity: Female was initially in the nest alone, and then a male came to purchase, proceeded to have a very short mating session.
Observation Method: Perched on driver side door edge and armrest to get the heights over the fence for a viewing. Will bring a small ladder to get a higher reach with the scope on a tripod.
General Comments: Was able to find slot in the back of the UPS distribution center parking lot. Much better location for viewing from here on out. Will need to get higher to see if there’s any opportunity of a view of the Chicklets in the future.
