For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: I looked as though the third osprey flew close to the nest and the one on the nest and the other on the upper post fled off. The one which flew onto the nest settled onto the eggs and nest adjusting and one other landed on the lower post.

General Comments: One adult sitting low in nest. Second adult arrived with smal fis at approx 6:10P landed on nest and stayed 5mins before flying off tward Wnigersheek

Weather Conditions: 70 degrees clear, calm
Other Activity: The resident female was on the nest sitting on eggs and the resident male was perched on platform 3 as usual. Three ospreys were flying high above the and both of the residents were calling warning cries. The interlopers called back and two of them circled lower. One of the interlopers approached platform 1 to land and this stimulated the resident male to fly over and chase the interloper. After lots of chasing of the interlopers, they began to move away and eventually the resident male returned to his perch on platform 3. The resident female did not leave the nest.

Weather Conditions: Breezy, partly sunny,71, high tide will be at 4:43
Other Activity: 2:30 one adult clearly visible perched atop nest, on the edge, and a second white head visible peeking up from inside nest 2:38 the perched one takes off There may have been a third adult flying nearby but no positive ID 2:42 the male (assumed) returns with food and perches on top crosspiece near nest, soon left and at 2:47 returned to a lower crosspiece with fish. They remained this way, one in nest and one lower on tower, until I left

Other Activity: one bird down in the nest, busy, but I can't tell what it's doing; to the east of the platform there's a second bird perched on a post, feeding itself; to the east of that there are two more birds on a dilapidated platform, one of them is feeding itself
