For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: 1 adult perched above the nest and on the post. The second then flew over to the nearby hut roof, but returned to the nest a few minutes later.

Other Activity: As I approached in my boat both birds lifted off and just circled high overhead and did not return until I left the creek.

Other Activity: As we approached, an osprey could be seen incubating. The the second flew in and delivered a fish. It then went up to the high perch for a couple minutes and the female (I assume) in the nest began pulling small pieces of fish off and feeding 2 hatchlings as well as a few bigger pieces to herself. The male flew off to a nearby tree and the female contuned feeding. 2 heads were very clearly visible, but a third is possible.

Other Activity: The osprey was incubating, but as we passed by the nest, it flew off and over to Choate Island and came back with a small amount of nest material. It returned to incubating.

Other Activity: One osprey perched on side of nest. The other osprey was in the marsh hunting but attacked a cormorant near my boat that was close to the nest. He was certainly protecting the area around the nest.
