For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: One was on the perch that is on the nest platform. The other was standing on the nest eating. She could have been feeding chicks but I couldn't see any little heads.

Other Activity: Extreme distance - male, and female on nest. Appears to be feeding most likely nestlings.

Observation Method: Walked to edge of river - used scope.

General Comments: Parking at pull off area on Rt 107N. Walked through opening in chain link fence.

Other Activity: Male and female on nest at least one nestling visible. Male left and returned with food.

Observation Method: Walked to edge of river. With scope.

General Comments: Parked in pullout area on Rt.107 and slipped through open cut in fence .

Other Activity: Two osprey perched on rim of nest. Not looking in nest. The birds seem a bit smaller than the adults in the other nests. They fluffed their wings a few times but did not fly off.

Observation Method: On foot at Ferry pier with binoculars.

Other Activity: The adult on the nest seems very large. He or she fluffed their wings multiple times and was actively observing the environment around and appeared to be cleaning his or herself. He or she also looked down in the nest numerous times and a few times went down into the nest. About 10 minutes into the observation another adult osprey flew by but did not stop or return to the nest

Observation Method: In vehicle with binoculars at the end of Osgood Street. Then at the end of Planters street to get a different view.

Other Activity: One very large osprey perched on nest. The bird was facing outward not looking into the nest and seemed to just be observing.
