For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male incubating and female "on break" on nearby piling. She eventually returned to incubate and male left.

General Comments: Great sign to see a fish being landed by male on the nest.

General Comments: second adult returned with a fish about 20 minutes into my observation. I was able to witness two chicks being fed for the first time at this location!

General Comments: I wasn't able to see any chick activity because both adults were relaxing. One on the perch and one in the nest. I was just about to pack up and a chick popped up for about 3 seconds!

Other Activity: The osprey remained perched observing his or her surroundings.
Observation Method: On foot at Salem Ferry with binoculars
General Comments: The nest is fairly far away and it is hard to tell if there is any activity in the nest. The one bird did appear smaller than the other adults I observe and the nest seems smaller too.
