For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: 2 almost-fledged young perched on nest, 1 adult landed briefly and left. Young were alone. both spreading and flapping wings and one even got off the nest and landed again. Definitely 2 chicks. #rd one seen with scope on 6/29 but not since. Something must have happened to it.

Other Activity: 2 peregrine falcons perched on platform. A tern dive bombed 1 of the falcons, making it flinch. After a while they both flew off. Not ospreys, but very cool..

Other Activity: The Ring's Island osprey has fledged!. The two adults and the fledgling are perched together on platform 1 by the river and no osprey is on the nest on Platform 2.

General Comments: Sadly the body of the second young 2025 Ring's Island osprey is still hanging from the nest where one of its feet is entangled in a piece of netting.
