For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: I can finally confirm at least one chick! Mama on the nest and taking a few quick flights around immediate area. Been watching daily and was thrilled to see that little reptilian looking head pop up! Should be able to tell fairly soon if there are more.

Other Activity: There was an Osprey siting low in the nest. It was impossible to determine the size. Because I didn’t have time to hang around, I couldn’t wait to see if s/he would rise out of the nest or fly off of the nest.

Other Activity: Squam on far pole; 2 chicks in nest -- doing some wing flapping. Both look to be similar in size now; their in-coming feathers are more prominent. Annie arrives on nest - no food for the young. All seems to be going accodring to plan.

General Comments: Male bringing food in. There was a bit of wing flapping, but not as impressive as a few days ago. I was only able to see two nestlings. Perhaps the bird that was flapping its wings so heavily has already fledged. It's also possible the little guy was down low.
