Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Observation Method: On foot having walked from rear of CVS. With binoculars.
General Comments: Full on Logan flight path over the platform. Incoming approx. 3-5 minutes apart.

Weather Conditions: 80 degrees, light SE, clear
Other Activity: The resident male was perched on platform 3 with a fish. The female called from the nest with a "feed me" call repeatedly. Eventually the male flew to the nest and the female fed the chicks while the male perched. The male then flew back to platform 3, his favorite perch.

General Comments: the chicks have coloring on their heads and feathers are developing, but they are not close to fledging.

General Comments: Two very clearly visible chicks again. The heat shimmer was pretty strong. I used a lower magnification in an effort to reduce the effect, but the trade-off of course was that I couldn't see well enough into the nest to spot that third chick, if in fact it's even there.
