Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 72F, moderate breeze shifting SE to S, partly cloudy
Other Activity: No osprey visible at first, then nestling arose and adult arrived and perched. Nestling did some light flapping. Later the other adult arrived with a small catch that it left then it departed. The nestling fed on the catch by itself and then retreated below.
Observation Method: By scope from hill near Harbormaster shack on Winter Island.
General Comments: Nestling seems likely to fly in the next week or so but I will be away for the week and may miss it.
