For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male down on rocks eating, female eating up on the nest, nestling perched most of the time, then accepted some of the food from the adult. Nestling looks about as large as the adult and may already have flown.

Other Activity: One adult osprey was perched on the nest. Another osprey was perched on the bar below. At first I assumed it was the male but after observing for awhile I realized there was not a chick in the nest. It’s possible that the chick is a fledgling and was perched on the bar but I’m not certain.

Other Activity: 1 adult was on the post and the other was perched in the nest with both young osprey perched in the nest as well. No flapping from the young was observed. Both seem slightly smaller than the fledglings at the Brophy Platform.
