For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Adult was on the perch, turning its head in all directions for about 8 minutes, until a boat drove along very close to land and it flew off. There was no sign of the nestling in the nest.

Other Activity: One Osprey perched in marsh. Four others observed perched on far transmission tower.

Observation Method: Slid into Wheelabrator site and parked briefly in pullout area near garbage truck turnaround area.

General Comments: A quick in and out. I wore a reflective vest for "safety" purposes.

Weather Conditions: 6° and cloudy. 6 mph / Winds - southwest

Other Activity: Two fledglings observed in nest. One flew off and landed on the nearby radio tower.

Observation Method: Parked in Rt 107 pull-out / used scope & binoculars for viewing. The cut in the fencing has been closed - forcing observation from in front of my vehicle. (YIKES!)

Other Activity: One young did moderate flapping. Adult returned with a fish and began eating. One young eventually received some, others stayed in background.

Other Activity: Adult left after a few minutes. A nestling stretched a wing from down in the nest then retreated again. Couldn't tell if the other nestling was also below.
