For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Initially observed from Brophy and the nest appeared empty.. One we got to Dean, the 2 nestlings were visible, but were tucked down and quiet. There were a couple of adults somewhat nearby, one in the air close to the treed island, and 1 one a tree on Dean Island, but they did not come into the nest.

Other Activity: Two osprey left the nest as I approached. I shut down my motor and within a minute 4 osprey returned. Two landed on the nest and two were circling the creek and hunting fish. I'm not sure if these were 2 fledglings that I hadn't previously seen or if it was just another pair of osprey.
