For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: Mid 70s, sunny, low humidity

Other Activity: Make had just brought a fish. Mother was feeding (still beak to beak) while father stayed on nearby pole. One chick was flapping its wings. Never really saw second one but saw movement a few times. Father returned to nest and all were peaceful. Tried to get a family photo but couldn’t get all four. I love how attentive the father is. Seems to spend a lot of time at or near the nest. I don’t see this at some of the other nests. Could be because there are other birds (hawks, osprey) in the area.
