For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: I believe there is one chick still to fledge, as I have seen at least one in the nest a number of times in the last two days.

Other Activity: the fledgling was by itself perched on the side of the nest. It was calling to its parents. The two adult osprey flew in and dropped a fish (or two) and the female and fledgling bent to eat. The male flew to the perch below the nest.

Other Activity: Both young ospreys have fledged! One was flying off with an adult toward the river and then came back. The other taking more tentative flights around the park with the other adult watching. All four on nest at one point. Great to see!
