at: Haverhill

Number of Adults Visible: 2

Number of Nestlings Visible: 1

Number of Fledglings Visible:

Weather Conditions: 69 degrees, 11 mph wind gusts, partial cloud

Other Activity: When i arrived, the make Osprey was on the pole to the right, and the female Osprey was standing up in the nest, with a small blob visible to her left. When I arrived, someone else watching the birds said that they had seen the third Osprey in the area, which may explain why the male Osprey was hanging nearby on the pole for so long. The female Osprey eventually settled down into the nest, with one nestling slightly visible popping up at times. The male flew over to the nest from the pole and stayed there with the female until I left.

Observation Method: From the bleachers in the park, cvs side

General Comments: Since 6/15 eve and today: male or female spending some time standing at nest’s edge. This is either pretty recent behavior or I’m not watching enough (I check at least every hour). Also, usually the bird incubating the eggs sits pretty still for seemingly long periods of time. Now, they move around in the nest more. Hard to see what she does inside the nest. Perhaps chick(s) hatched? She is doing something inside of nest 2:35pm that may suggest feeding them. Fingers crossed! Remember last year was difficult to know as well until bobbing heads.
