For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Osprey one perched on nest rim. Second osprey arrived empty handed at 1:25 and landed on nest and moved quickly to nearby perch

Other Activity: One osprey in nest second osprey observed perched in nearby tree. After 10 minutes perched osprey joined the other in the nest and remained there until I ended my observation

Weather Conditions: cool, light breeze, partly cloudy.
Other Activity: Observed one bird on the nest, probably incubating eggs at this point and one bird perched on the channel marker below the nest.
Observation Method: on foot at Independence Park beach.
General Comments: I guess the death of the other bird wasn't such a big deal for this pair... or maybe that other bird was the 3rd party, as it were.
