For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: Around 39 degrees, sunny, very little wind

Other Activity: Observed the osprey on the new platform briefly from the Plum Island Turnpike, and then again from another spot on the Parker River NWR. Many osprey were observed this morning on the platforms along the Plum Island Sound while out birding this morning.

General Comments: Osprey seen overhead again flying around. Second Osprey seen as well maybe both are back to the area now. I haven’t seen activity on the nest yet but we’ve had a few rainy days with no activity
