For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: There were two on the nest and one was rearranging new sticks on the nest. Occasionally one or both would leave the nest & return. There have been 4 osprey flying around every day looking like there is some territorial conflict. I wanted to point out that there is a nice platform available just up river at Stanton St.

Weather Conditions: Clear, blue sky; winds from north at 10-15 kts
Other Activity: Did not observe any nest material on platform, looked completely bare. Osprey #1 landed on high platform at 3:36 PM. Believe it was a male. Osprey #2 arrived at 3:41. There was a lot of wing flapping for about 90 seconds then Osprey #1 descended to perch on lower platform. Osprey #2 stayed on perch on high platform for 6 minutes and left. Osprey #1 remained on perch on low platform until I left at 4:03 PM
