For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Male/Female on platform. One on perch (with fish)/other in nest. Not incubating. ***Two osprey on makeshift nest in marsh approximately 75 yards to the NW. Assumed female, then soon thereafter joined by male.***

Observation Method: Parked at center of Jacobs Park - walking to the edge of the marsh

General Comments: Sent Dave Rimmer flagged location w/mile marker on Rt. 107

Other Activity: Osprey stayed perched on a nearby tree the entire time. No osprey on the nest while I was observing.

Weather Conditions: 52 degrees, initially 9 mph with gusts to 13, cloudy

Other Activity: Initially 1 osprey was perched on the nest. As we were paddling away, we heard osprey calling and saw that the second one had flown into the perch.
