For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: For the first 10 minutes, no osprey were on the nest. I saw 2 osprey flying around the marsh closer to Babson though. I kept observing the nest and then 1 osprey flew just over the nest, circled around and flew off. A few minutes later, one flew over and onto the nest and perched. The second flew onto the nest edge and then off. The first then stood in the center of the nest bowl, and leaned down into the bowl, but did not get back in incubating position. The second osprey flew back in for a moment and then off again. When I left, the 1st osprey was still in the middle of the bowl, but not hunkered down.
