Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: From a distance we could see 2 osprey on the nest (1 up on the perch). As we got closer, 1 flew off but the other remained up on the nest perch as we passed by.

Other Activity: On our way over we could see 2 osprey together in the marsh near Great Bank. Then they flew over to the nest very briefly, then circled around the area and out towards Dilly, and then back into the marsh near the Great Bank platform. There was some calling between them as well.

Other Activity: Observed the nest on the way out at 7 AM as well and 1 was on the nest and 3 osprey were above us circling. On the way back, we could see copulation taking place and then 1 flew down into the marsh posts/staddles where it frequently seems to be.
