For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Finally after 4 years there is nest material on the platform that the Boy Scouts put up. No sign of any osprey but we see several in the area from our house so hopefully they will move in.

Other Activity: The female is sitting deep in the nest. Earlier in the day the male brought several loads of wrack to the nest. This afternoon he arrived with a shiny fish, herring size, and perched on a nearby canoe race and ate the head of the fish. He then delivered the fish to the female on the nest and soon left to perch on platform 3.
Observation Method: from back porch
General Comments: all seems to be going well for this pair. There are a few intruding osprey which fly by the nest, but they are quickly chased away.
