For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: While rowing back toward the Paint Factory saw that there were 2 Osprey on the nest. A bit later one of them could be seen flapping its wings and rising up just a little, as if engaged in mating.
Observation Method: Rowing in a Maritime Gloucester pilot gig
General Comments: Observed one osprey sitting on the nest which is located on the top of a channel marker next to Ten Pound Island as we rowed toward Niles Beach from the Paint Factory.

Other Activity: Started out like previous observations with only one osprey sitting on the nest. After 10 minutes a second osprey appeard with some fish, gave some to the osprey on the nest, then took off again. The osprey on the nest settled back down again.
Observation Method: Observed on foot with spotting scope and binoculars.
