For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: I heard osprey calling from nearby as I left Round Island. I saw 1 osprey perched on a tree branch and a tree nest with and osprey perched on it behind. This is the first day I have observed the nest, and I am not sure if it will be visible from land at all.

Other Activity: One osprey was on the nest post as I paddled over and in front of the nest. I was not close to shore, but it did start calling out as I paddled towards Dilly Island, so I kept moving past.

Other Activity: Initially the male was on the post near the nest and the female, I assume, was incubating. The male then flew onto the nest for a bit before flying off.

Other Activity: I watched the nest closely, but did not see an osprey in the nest or near it.

General Comments: On the way from Round to Babson, I heard osprey callling, and did spot the tree nest on Round Island or perhaps Choate. I will record this once the nest is added to the nest list. One osprey was perched in the nest and one on a nearby tree.
