For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: Two intruding ospreys attempting to take over the nest. The intruders were very aggressive, landing on the nest and platform 2 several times and being chased away by the residents. The same thing happened yesterday. The resident osprey will tolerate another osprey perching far away on platform 4 for a little while, but eventually the resident male threatens the interloper and forces it to fly away.
