Where are Osprey Nesting?
For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The resident pair have begun to spend most of their perching time on platform 1 closest to the river and are frequently mating there. They have also begun to bring nesting material to that platform. The may be changing the location of their nest.

Other Activity: One of the Ring's Island pair flew several times to a tall willow tree by by the marsh and flew into the top of the tree to break off dead branches and carry back to the nest that they are building on the first platform near the river. They seem to be moving the location of the nest to that platform and are spending most of their time perched there and well as mating and bringing nesting material to the new nest site.
