For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 55° nw @15 mph. Scattered clouds

Other Activity: Osprey was on a perch when first arrived to cove. Second bird on nest. While there we observed both osprey defending the nest from red tail hawk. This happened three times. Also the osprey presumed to me male would land on the beach to pick up sticks and return to the nest. The bird in the nest would maneuver the sticks in place.

Observation Method: Boat

General Comments: One bird sitting on the nest while male is perched or looking for sticks. Both would leave the nest when red tail hawk would approache the nest and chase it.
