Weather Conditions: 80 degrees, clear, light NW wind
Other Activity:
Observation Method: from rail trail
General Comments: No sign of any nesting activity, but this is one of several sightings of an osprey using the platform as a perch. I'm thinking that it would be interesting to categorize the various platforms and nest sites along the lines of 1. active nesting site that successfully fledged young. 2 active nest site with eggs/nestlings that failed to produce fledgl;ings, 3 site with nest building activity but no eggs laid, 4 site with some perching activity, but no nest building 5 site with no observed osprey activity. I'm sure you could improve the categories, but it could be interesting as part of a season-end report, if you're not already doing something along these lines.
