For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: Cloudy, light wind, Temp 46℉
Other Activity: One mainly sitting in nest; then flew around in circles and back to nest; stayed in nest about 12 minutes with head looking around in all directions;; twice the head dipped down inside nest; then partially spread wings, hopping up on nest rim; flew to nearby tree branch (quite close to nest); remained perched on branch until I left.

General Comments: very noisy Canadian geese around most of the time but didn't seem to effect osprey
